Self-consumption

Battery storage

A battery keeps the midday surplus for the evening, for rain, or for an outage. Without it, an oversized array often stops making sense under the new grid tariff.

Where they are used

  • Homes — own energy after sunset, and backup in an outage
  • Business — peak shaving and steadier operation
  • Solar arrays — surplus stays on site
  • Farms — cold stores, irrigation, buildings
  • Chargers — less stress on the connection
  • Backup for critical loads

Fox ESS home series

  • ECS 2900 — about 8.64–20.16 kWh
  • ECS 4300H — about 12.44–29.03 kWh
  • EQ 4800 — about 13.98–41.93 kWh
  • CQ 16 — larger stacks, about 64–241 kWh
  • EP — high voltage, wall or floor, including smaller systems

Why store it

  • Less wasted surplus
  • Steadier supply when clouds pass
  • Reserve during an outage
  • More of your own energy, a lower bill
  • Monitoring in the Fox ESS app
